Neuromodulators are among the most researched treatments in aesthetic medicine, yet they’re still widely misunderstood. Here’s what’s really going on - and what a good appointment looks like.

How they work

Expression lines form where muscles contract repeatedly. A neuromodulator temporarily reduces the signal from nerve to muscle, so the muscle relaxes and the skin above it smooths out.

How long results last

You’ll see the effect begin after three to seven days, with full results at two weeks. Most people return every three to four months.

Questions to ask first

  • Who will be injecting, and what are their medical qualifications?

  • How do you assess my face before treatment?

  • What happens if I want an adjustment at my review?

This article is for general information and isn’t a substitute for a medical consultation. Treatment suitability and results vary from person to person.
